History

Established early in 1960’, the fundamental safety research laboratory of CCRI is the earliest laboratory of China devoted to methane and mine fire prevention, mine recuing and slope stabilization. Being the most authoritative coalmine safety research organism in China, CCRI has a significant standing at home and abroad. Supported by the laboratory, CCRI has achieved more than 630 research results, won 18 items of State level prizes and 166 items of provincial/ministry level prizes, obtained 15 national patents, and formulated/amended more than 300 national or professional standards.

In order to implement the principle of the State Science & Technology Conference and “Outline of long/middle term State Science & Technology Development Plane (2006~2020)”, create a favorable circumstances for independent innovation, and promote the establishment of a new market guided innovation system which integrates production and academic research with enterprise as the main body, the Ministry of Science and Technology has carried on the program to encourage the management system shifting research organisms and enterprises to construct key state laboratories.
